Privacy Policy

1) Scope

This policy applies to the Turbo Scanner Android app (package: org.tvoidom.turboscanner).

2) Data we collect (sent from your device)

• Photos / screenshots: when server recognition is used, the selected screenshot/photo is uploaded to our server to process and return results.
• User content derived from screenshots (OCR text / recognized items): used for list generation and product matching.
• In-app search queries: sent to our server to return search/matching results.
• Device or other IDs: we generate an app-scoped random UUID (not a hardware ID) for entitlements, rate limiting, and abuse prevention.
• Purchase information (subscription): purchase tokens from Google Play are sent to our server to verify Pro status.
• Promo code redemption: promo codes are sent to our server to validate and enable Pro access.

3) How we use data

• App functionality: recognition, product matching, search, and list generation.
• Subscription management: verifying and maintaining Pro access.
• Security: rate limits, fraud/abuse prevention, service protection.
• Diagnostics: troubleshooting and reliability improvements.

4) Storage & retention

• Screenshots/photos: used to fulfill a recognition request and not intended for long-term storage.
• Diagnostics/feedback logs: may be retained for up to 90 days and then rotated/deleted. Logs may include processing metadata and excerpts of recognized text/items.
• Entitlements: Pro status is stored server-side and linked to your UUID.
• Purchase verification records: minimal verification data (e.g., hashes/flags) may be stored for Pro and fraud prevention.
• Promo code records: redemption records are stored to prevent reuse/abuse and maintain access status.

5) Sharing

We do not sell personal data and do not share user data for advertising. We may use service providers (processors) solely to operate the app and deliver requested features, such as Google Play Billing, hosting/infrastructure, and AI/OCR processing providers (if used) acting on our instructions.

6) Security

• Encryption in transit: HTTPS/TLS.
• Access controls: restricted to authorized personnel.

7) Data deletion requests

The app does not use accounts. To request deletion of server-side data associated with your UUID, contact support via tvoidom.org and include your Device ID shown in Settings/About.

8) Children

Turbo Scanner is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9) Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date will reflect changes.
